The sky is captured in Great Sand Dunes National Park Colorado, because of the abundant and extremely dark night skies. I drove 7 hours to piece this composition together. The foreground and mountain shot is from Aspen mountain. Just a few hours later during the blue hour to pull out as much detail as possible.
Story: Recently purchased a star tracker recently I wasn’t upset with all the driving as I knew there would be plenty to shoot in both locations. I’m really happy with how the composition turned out. The performance of the tracker and how much detail and color it can pull out of the night sky right in camera. I can’t wait for the beginning of the Milky Way season next year!
